However, nilfs_mdt_save_to_shadow_map()\nassumes i_assoc_inode is already initialized when copying dirty pages\nto the shadow map during GC.\n\nIf NILFS_IOCTL_CLEAN_SEGMENTS is called immediately after mount before\nany btree operation has occurred on the DAT inode, i_assoc_inode is\nNULL leading to a general protection fault.\n\nFix this by calling nilfs_attach_btree_node_cache() on the DAT inode\nin nilfs_dat_read() at mount time, ensuring i_assoc_inode is always\ninitialized before any GC operation can use it.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/41de342278ae025c99cc8d33648773f05e306cf1","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/449ec5fc99f45974525ba9eea16b6670c45cd363","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4a4e0328edd9e9755843787d28f16dd4165f8b48","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6637bbcfb59df5b732a79e5ab1a74886a0b93d59","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7318e3549518ce8f14776a489d86488d80d7e2c8"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:09.003606135+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-31577","score":0.00125,"percentile":0.02203,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
