A concurrent\nclose() can free the socket between the lock release and the subsequent\nsk->sk_state access, resulting in a use-after-free.\n\nOther functions in the same file (sco_sock_timeout(), sco_conn_del())\ncorrectly use sco_sock_hold() to safely hold a reference under the lock.\n\nFix by using sco_sock_hold() to take a reference before releasing the\nlock, and adding sock_put() on all exit paths.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/108b81514d8f2535eb16651495cefb2250528db3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/37e18bc8c9a70d77bd099e2273f328b3bc7f6d0d","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/45aaca995e4a7a05b272a58e7ab2fff4f611b8f1","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/598dbba9919c5e36c54fe1709b557d64120cb94b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7197462e90b8ce15caa1ae15d4bc2bb8cd21b11e"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:43:09.190223697+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-31408","score":0.00307,"percentile":0.23315,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
