When\nhtype equals 255, an out-of-bounds read occurs on the function pointer\ntable, and the OOB value may be called as a function pointer.\n\nAdd a bounds check on htype against the array size before either table\nis accessed. Out-of-range values now cause the SNDU to be discarded.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-125"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/145e50c2c700fa52b840df7bab206043997dd18e","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1a6da3dbb9985d00743073a1cc1f96e59f5abc30","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/24d87712727a5017ad142d63940589a36cd25647","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/29ef43ceb121d67b87f4cbb08439e4e9e732eff8","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8bde543d2a5f935ba2a6a6325a2e02f8a9256fbe"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-31405","score":0.0055,"percentile":0.46024,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
