{"cve":"CVE-2026-30972","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-10T21:16:49.517","modified":"2026-06-17T10:33:15.000","status":"Analyzed","description":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior o 9.5.2-alpha.10 and 8.6.23, Parse Server's rate limiting middleware is applied at the Express middleware layer, but the batch request endpoint (/batch) processes sub-requests internally by routing them directly through the Promise router, bypassing Express middleware including rate limiting. An attacker can bundle multiple requests targeting a rate-limited endpoint into a single batch request to circumvent the configured rate limit. Any Parse Server deployment that relies on the built-in rate limiting feature is affected. This vulnerability is fixed in 9.5.2-alpha.10 and 8.6.23.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:L","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-799"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/8.6.23","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/9.5.2-alpha.10","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-775h-3xrc-c228"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-30972","score":0.00363,"percentile":0.30137,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-775h-3xrc-c228","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-775h-3xrc-c228","summary":"Parse Server has a rate limit bypass via batch request endpoint","modified":"2026-03-14T03:41:04.967339Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=9.0.0-alpha.1 <9.5.2-alpha.10"],"fixed":["9.5.2-alpha.10"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<8.6.23"],"fixed":["8.6.23"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
