Prior to 9.5.2-alpha.6 and 8.6.19, the validation for protected fields only checks top-level query keys. By wrapping a query constraint on a protected field inside a logical operator, the check is bypassed entirely. This allows any authenticated user to query on protected fields to extract field values. All Parse Server deployments have default protected fields and are vulnerable. This vulnerability is fixed in 9.5.2-alpha.6 and 8.6.19.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-284"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/8.6.19","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/9.5.2-alpha.6","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-72hp-qff8-4pvv"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-30962","score":0.00315,"percentile":0.24459,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-72hp-qff8-4pvv","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-72hp-qff8-4pvv","summary":"Parse Server has a protected fields bypass via logical query operators","modified":"2026-03-14T03:41:13.140891Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=9.0.0 <9.5.2-alpha.6"],"fixed":["9.5.2-alpha.6"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<8.6.19"],"fixed":["8.6.19"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
