{"cve":"CVE-2026-30957","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-10T18:18:54.737","modified":"2026-10-07T08:10:00.200","status":"Analyzed","description":"OneUptime is a solution for monitoring and managing online services. Prior to 10.0.21, OneUptime Synthetic Monitors allow a low-privileged authenticated project user to execute arbitrary commands on the oneuptime-probe server/container. The root cause is that untrusted Synthetic Monitor code is executed inside Node's vm while live host-realm Playwright browser and page objects are exposed to it. A malicious user can call Playwright APIs on the injected browser object and cause the probe to spawn an attacker-controlled executable. This is a server-side remote code execution issue. It does not require a separate vm sandbox escape. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.0.21.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.9},"cwes":["CWE-749"],"references":["https://github.com/OneUptime/oneuptime/releases/tag/10.0.21","https://github.com/OneUptime/oneuptime/security/advisories/GHSA-jw8q-gjvg-8w4q"],"products":["hackerbay:oneuptime"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-30957","score":0.01198,"percentile":0.67903,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jw8q-gjvg-8w4q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jw8q-gjvg-8w4q","summary":"OneUptime has Synthetic Monitor RCE via exposed Playwright browser object","modified":"2026-03-10T19:01:29.532205Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@oneuptime/common","purl":"pkg:npm/%40oneuptime/common","ranges":["<10.0.21"],"fixed":["10.0.21"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
