Prior to 6.37.8, there is SQL injection via unescaped cast type in JSON/JSONB where clause processing. The _traverseJSON() function splits JSON path keys on :: to extract a cast type, which is interpolated raw into CAST(... AS <type>) SQL. An attacker who controls JSON object keys can inject arbitrary SQL and exfiltrate data from any table. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.37.8.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-89"],"references":["https://github.com/sequelize/sequelize/security/advisories/GHSA-6457-6jrx-69cr","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:8498","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-30951","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2446250","https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-30951.json"],"products":["sequelizejs:sequelize"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-30951","score":0.00449,"percentile":0.3901,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-6457-6jrx-69cr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-6457-6jrx-69cr","summary":"Sequelize v6 Vulnerable to SQL Injection via JSON Column Cast Type","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:37.694732367Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"sequelize","purl":"pkg:npm/sequelize","ranges":[">=6.0.0-beta.1 <6.37.8"],"fixed":["6.37.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
