Prior to 0.4.0, the /studiocms_api/dashboard/api-tokens endpoint allows any authenticated user (at least Editor) to generate API tokens for any other user, including owner and admin accounts. The endpoint fails to validate whether the requesting user is authorized to create tokens on behalf of the target user ID, resulting in a full privilege escalation. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.4.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-639","CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/withstudiocms/studiocms/commit/f4a209fc090c90195e2419fff47b48a46eab7441","https://github.com/withstudiocms/studiocms/releases/tag/studiocms@0.4.0","https://github.com/withstudiocms/studiocms/security/advisories/GHSA-667w-mmh7-mrr4"],"products":["studiocms:studiocms"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-30944","score":0.00586,"percentile":0.48049,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-667w-mmh7-mrr4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-667w-mmh7-mrr4","summary":"StudioCMS has Privilege Escalation via Insecure API Token Generation","modified":"2026-03-10T19:01:27.416110Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"studiocms","purl":"pkg:npm/studiocms","ranges":["<0.4.0"],"fixed":["0.4.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
