Prior to versions 8.6.8 and 9.5.0-alpha.8, the PagesRouter static file serving route is vulnerable to a path traversal attack that allows unauthenticated reading of files outside the configured pagesPath directory. The boundary check uses a string prefix comparison without enforcing a directory separator boundary. An attacker can use path traversal sequences to access files in sibling directories whose names share the same prefix as the pages directory (e.g. pages-secret starts with pages). This issue has been patched in versions 8.6.8 and 9.5.0-alpha.8.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":3.7},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-hm3f-q6rw-m6wh"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-30848","score":0.00325,"percentile":0.25557,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-hm3f-q6rw-m6wh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-hm3f-q6rw-m6wh","summary":"Parse Server: `PagesRouter` path traversal allows reading files outside configured pages directory","modified":"2026-03-16T03:01:05.466470Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<8.6.8"],"fixed":["8.6.8"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=9.0.0-alpha.1 <9.5.0-alpha.8"],"fixed":["9.5.0-alpha.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
