Prior to version 1.20.1, a vulnerability in the SCM URL parsing used by Backstage integrations allowed path traversal sequences in encoded form to be included in file paths. When these URLs were processed by integration functions that construct API URLs, the traversal segments could redirect requests to unintended SCM provider API endpoints using the configured server-side integration credentials. This issue has been patched in version 1.20.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":2.7},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/backstage/backstage/security/advisories/GHSA-95v5-prp4-5gv5"],"products":["linuxfoundation:backstage\\/integration"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29185","score":0.0037,"percentile":0.30961,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-95v5-prp4-5gv5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-95v5-prp4-5gv5","summary":"Backstage vulnerable to potential reading of SCM URLs using built in token","modified":"2026-03-09T16:01:24.192125Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@backstage/integration","purl":"pkg:npm/%40backstage/integration","ranges":["<1.20.1"],"fixed":["1.20.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
