Prior to 4.81.1, a broken access control vulnerability in Fleet's host transfer API allows a team maintainer to transfer hosts from any team into their own team, bypassing team isolation boundaries. Once transferred, the attacker gains full control over the stolen hosts, including the ability to execute scripts with root privileges. Version 4.81.1 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U","score":4.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/security/advisories/GHSA-m2h6-4xpq-qw3m"],"products":["fleetdm:fleet"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29180","score":0.00328,"percentile":0.25648,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m2h6-4xpq-qw3m","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m2h6-4xpq-qw3m","summary":"A Fleet team maintainer can transfer hosts from any team via missing source team authorization","modified":"2026-04-02T21:26:18.821623960Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","ranges":["<4.81.1"],"fixed":["4.81.1"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4892","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4892","summary":"A Fleet team maintainer can transfer hosts from any team via missing source team authorization in github.com/fleetdm/fleet","modified":"2026-04-02T21:20:08.600767Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","ranges":["<4.81.1"],"fixed":["4.81.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
