Prior to version 3.0.0, a remote code execution (RCE) flaw was discovered in the locutus project, specifically within the call_user_func_array function implementation. The vulnerability allows an attacker to inject arbitrary JavaScript code into the application's runtime environment. This issue stems from an insecure implementation of the call_user_func_array function (and its wrapper call_user_func), which fails to properly validate all components of a callback array before passing them to eval(). This issue has been patched in version 3.0.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-95","CWE-94"],"references":["https://github.com/locutusjs/locutus/commit/977a1fb169441e35996a1d2465b512322de500ad","https://github.com/locutusjs/locutus/security/advisories/GHSA-fp25-p6mj-qqg6","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-29091","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2445262","https://github.com/locutusjs/locutus/security/advisories/GHSA-fp25-p6mj-qqg6"],"products":["locutus:locutus"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29091","score":0.00808,"percentile":0.56856,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-fp25-p6mj-qqg6","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-fp25-p6mj-qqg6","summary":"locutus call_user_func_array vulnerable to Remote Code Execution (RCE) due to Code Injection","modified":"2026-03-06T23:01:20.600467Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"locutus","purl":"pkg:npm/locutus","ranges":["<3.0.0"],"fixed":["3.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
