Prior to version 1.19.10, when using @hono/node-server's static file serving together with route-based middleware protections (e.g. protecting /admin/*), inconsistent URL decoding can allow protected static resources to be accessed without authorization. In particular, paths containing encoded slashes (%2F) may be evaluated differently by routing/middleware matching versus static file path resolution, enabling a bypass where middleware does not run but the static file is still served. This issue has been patched in version 1.19.10.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/node-server/commit/455015be1697dd89974a68b70350ea7b2d126d2e","https://github.com/honojs/node-server/security/advisories/GHSA-wc8c-qw6v-h7f6"],"products":["hono:node-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29087","score":0.00363,"percentile":0.30177,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wc8c-qw6v-h7f6","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wc8c-qw6v-h7f6","summary":"@hono/node-server has authorization bypass for protected static paths via encoded slashes in Serve Static Middleware","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:41.582966467Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@hono/node-server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40hono/node-server","ranges":["<1.19.10"],"fixed":["1.19.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
