Prior to version 4.12.4, the setCookie() utility did not validate semicolons (;), carriage returns (\\r), or newline characters (\\n) in the domain and path options when constructing the Set-Cookie header. Because cookie attributes are delimited by semicolons, this could allow injection of additional cookie attributes if untrusted input was passed into these fields. This issue has been patched in version 4.12.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-1113"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/hono/commit/44ae0c8cc4d5ab2bed529127a4ac72e1483ad073","https://github.com/honojs/hono/security/advisories/GHSA-5pq2-9x2x-5p6w"],"products":["hono:hono"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29086","score":0.00259,"percentile":0.17688,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5pq2-9x2x-5p6w","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5pq2-9x2x-5p6w","summary":"Hono Vulnerable to Cookie Attribute Injection via Unsanitized domain and path in setCookie()","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:37.686721963Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"hono","purl":"pkg:npm/hono","ranges":["<4.12.4"],"fixed":["4.12.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
