Prior to version 4.12.4, when using streamSSE() in Streaming Helper, the event, id, and retry fields were not validated for carriage return (\\r) or newline (\\n) characters. Because the SSE protocol uses line breaks as field delimiters, this could allow injection of additional SSE fields within the same event frame if untrusted input was passed into these fields. This issue has been patched in version 4.12.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/hono/commit/f4123ed9ea3c7c52380cc99a079a4d773838846e","https://github.com/honojs/hono/security/advisories/GHSA-p6xx-57qc-3wxr"],"products":["hono:hono"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29085","score":0.00281,"percentile":0.20639,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-p6xx-57qc-3wxr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-p6xx-57qc-3wxr","summary":"Hono Vulnerable to SSE Control Field Injection via CR/LF in writeSSE()","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:40.157611504Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"hono","purl":"pkg:npm/hono","ranges":["<4.12.4"],"fixed":["4.12.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
