{"cve":"CVE-2026-29070","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-27T00:16:22.823","modified":"2026-06-17T10:29:32.877","status":"Analyzed","description":"Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to version 0.8.6, an access control check is missing when deleting a file from a knowledge base. The only check being done is that the user has write access to the knowledge base (or is admin), but NOT that the file actually belongs to this knowledge base. It is thus possible to delete arbitrary files from arbitrary knowledge bases (as long as one knows the file id). Version 0.8.6 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/security/advisories/GHSA-26gm-93rw-cchf"],"products":["openwebui:open_webui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:18.033120106+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29070","score":0.00261,"percentile":0.17965,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-26gm-93rw-cchf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-26gm-93rw-cchf","summary":"Open WebUI has unauthorized deletion of knowledge files","modified":"2026-07-13T16:43:22.042656342Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.8.6"],"fixed":["0.8.6"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2693","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2693","summary":"Open WebUI has unauthorized deletion of knowledge files","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:54.794113372Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.8.6"],"fixed":["0.8.6"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
