Attackers can send two or more READLINK responses containing relative symlink targets of approximately 1100 bytes each to corrupt adjacent BSS variables including nfs_server_ip, nfs_server_mount_port, nfs_server_port, nfs_our_port, nfs_state, and rpc_id, potentially achieving memory corruption and control over the NFS client state machine.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-120"],"references":["https://git.u-boot-project.org/u-boot/u-boot/-/commit/d6694018eaddefac6aae974f9cec72fd6e58f1bc","https://git.u-boot-project.org/u-boot/u-boot/-/releases/v2026.07-rc2","https://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2026-May/617853.html","https://u-boot.org/","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/u-boot-rc3-buffer-overflow-in-nfs-readlink-reply-via-nfs-readlink"],"products":["denx:u-boot"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:27.712498749+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-29009","score":0.0074,"percentile":0.54298,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
