In elabftw versions through 5.4.1, the login flow did not reliably preserve the multi-factor authentication state across authentication steps. Under certain conditions, an attacker with valid primary credentials could complete authentication with an attacker-controlled TOTP secret and bypass the additional factor. This could result in unauthorized account access. This issue is fixed in version 5.4.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-302"],"references":["https://github.com/elabftw/elabftw/commit/8b7a575aef128870861187eaa2b2f0f08654ecf9","https://github.com/elabftw/elabftw/security/advisories/GHSA-x5wv-c9q4-fj65"],"products":["elabftw:elabftw"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:55.586217763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-28510","score":0.00254,"percentile":0.17051,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
