Prior to version 2.3.3, the /api/backup endpoint is accessible without authentication and discloses the encryption keys required to decrypt the backup in the X-Backup-Security response header. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to download a full system backup containing sensitive data (user credentials, session tokens, SSL private keys, Nginx configurations) and decrypt it immediately. This issue has been patched in version 2.3.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-306","CWE-311"],"references":["https://github.com/0xJacky/nginx-ui/security/advisories/GHSA-g9w5-qffc-6762"],"products":["nginxui:nginx_ui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-27944","score":0.22842,"percentile":0.97737,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g9w5-qffc-6762","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g9w5-qffc-6762","summary":"Nginx-UI Vulnerable to Unauthenticated Backup Download with Encryption Key Disclosure","modified":"2026-03-23T04:56:21.821301245Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI","ranges":["<2.3.3"],"fixed":["2.3.3"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4614","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4614","summary":"Nginx-UI Vulnerable to Unauthenticated Backup Download with Encryption Key Disclosure in github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI","modified":"2026-03-23T04:53:15.679133Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
