Prior to version 1.35.4, an authenticated regular user can specify another user’s cipher_id and call \"PUT /api/ciphers/{id}/partial\" Even though the standard retrieval API correctly denies access to that cipher, the partial update endpoint returns 200 OK and exposes cipherDetails (including name, notes, data, secureNote, etc.). This issue has been patched in version 1.35.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-639"],"references":["https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden/security/advisories/GHSA-w9f8-m526-h7fh"],"products":["dani-garcia:vaultwarden"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-27898","score":0.00192,"percentile":0.08876,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-w9f8-m526-h7fh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-w9f8-m526-h7fh","summary":"Vaultwarden has Unauthorized Access via Partial Update API on Another User’s Cipher","modified":"2026-03-04T20:41:19.470123Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"vaultwarden","purl":"pkg:cargo/vaultwarden","ranges":["<1.35.4"],"fixed":["1.35.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
