A malicious FTP server can send directory listings with filenames containing path traversal sequences (`../`) that cause files to be written outside the intended download directory. Version 5.2.0 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/patrickjuchli/basic-ftp/commit/2a2a0e6514357b9eda07c2f8afbd3f04727a7cd9","https://github.com/patrickjuchli/basic-ftp/releases/tag/v5.2.0","https://github.com/patrickjuchli/basic-ftp/security/advisories/GHSA-5rq4-664w-9x2c"],"products":["patrickjuchli:basic-ftp"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-27699","score":0.00939,"percentile":0.60931,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5rq4-664w-9x2c","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5rq4-664w-9x2c","summary":"Basic FTP has Path Traversal Vulnerability in its downloadToDir() method","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:34.155700781Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"basic-ftp","purl":"pkg:npm/basic-ftp","ranges":["<5.2.0"],"fixed":["5.2.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
