{"cve":"CVE-2026-27695","nvd":{"published":"2026-02-25T15:20:52.907","modified":"2026-06-17T10:27:31.953","status":"Analyzed","description":"zae-limiter is a rate limiting library using the token bucket algorithm. Prior to version 0.10.1, all rate limit buckets for a single entity share the same DynamoDB partition key (`namespace/ENTITY#{id}`). A high-traffic entity can exceed DynamoDB's per-partition throughput limits (~1,000 WCU/sec), causing throttling that degrades service for that entity — and potentially co-located entities in the same partition. Version 0.10.1 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/zeroae/zae-limiter/releases/tag/v0.10.1","https://github.com/zeroae/zae-limiter/security/advisories/GHSA-76rv-2r9v-c5m6"],"products":["zeroae:zae-limiter"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-27695","score":0.00267,"percentile":0.18825,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-76rv-2r9v-c5m6","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-76rv-2r9v-c5m6","summary":"zae-limiter: DynamoDB hot partition throttling enables per-entity Denial of Service","modified":"2026-07-13T16:42:41.891825704Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"zae-limiter","purl":"pkg:pypi/zae-limiter","ranges":["<0.10.1"],"fixed":["0.10.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3434","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3434","summary":"zae-limiter: DynamoDB hot partition throttling enables per-entity Denial of Service","modified":"2026-07-13T16:33:10.992287876Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"zae-limiter","purl":"pkg:pypi/zae-limiter","ranges":["<0.10.1"],"fixed":["0.10.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
