{"cve":"CVE-2026-27602","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-25T19:16:48.430","modified":"2026-06-17T10:27:22.557","status":"Analyzed","description":"Modoboa is a mail hosting and management platform. Prior to version 2.7.1, `exec_cmd()` in `modoboa/lib/sysutils.py` always runs subprocess calls with `shell=True`. Since domain names flow directly into shell command strings without any sanitization, a Reseller or SuperAdmin can include shell metacharacters in a domain name to run arbitrary OS commands on the server. Version 2.7.1 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/modoboa/modoboa/commit/27a7aa133d3608fe8c25ae39125d1012c333cbfa","https://github.com/modoboa/modoboa/releases/tag/2.7.1","https://github.com/modoboa/modoboa/security/advisories/GHSA-wwv8-cqpr-vx3m","https://github.com/modoboa/modoboa/security/advisories/GHSA-wwv8-cqpr-vx3m"],"products":["modoboa:modoboa"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:18.033120106+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-27602","score":0.00576,"percentile":0.47504,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wwv8-cqpr-vx3m","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wwv8-cqpr-vx3m","summary":"Modoboa has OS Command Injection","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:17.517550624Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"modoboa","purl":"pkg:pypi/modoboa","ranges":["<2.7.1"],"fixed":["2.7.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2223","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2223","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:37.255893685Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"modoboa","purl":"pkg:pypi/modoboa","ranges":["<2.7.1"],"fixed":["2.7.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
