Prior to version 2.0.0, the application allows users to set weak passwords (e.g., 1234, password) without enforcing minimum strength requirements. Additionally, active sessions remain valid after a user changes their password. An attacker who compromises an account (via brute-force or credential stuffing) can maintain persistent access even after the victim resets their password. Version 2.0.0 contains a fix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-521","CWE-613"],"references":["https://github.com/go-vikunja/vikunja/security/advisories/GHSA-3ccg-x393-96v8","https://vikunja.io/changelog/vikunja-v2.0.0-was-released"],"products":["vikunja:vikunja"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-27575","score":0.00473,"percentile":0.4089,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-3ccg-x393-96v8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-3ccg-x393-96v8","summary":"Vijkunja has Weak Password Policy Combined with Persistent Sessions After Password Change","modified":"2026-03-09T02:03:50.298083308Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"code.vikunja.io/api","purl":"pkg:golang/code.vikunja.io/api","ranges":["<=0.24.6"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4551","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4551","summary":"Vijkunja has Weak Password Policy Combined with Persistent Sessions After Password Change in code.vikunja.io/api","modified":"2026-03-09T02:03:50.298083Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"code.vikunja.io/api","purl":"pkg:golang/code.vikunja.io/api","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
