From version 4.0.0 to before version 4.14.4, Wazuh's server API brute-force protection for POST /security/user/authenticate can be bypassed by sending concurrent authentication requests. Although the configured threshold (max_login_attempts, default 50) is enforced correctly for sequential requests, a parallel burst allows significantly more failed login attempts to be processed before the IP block is applied. This enables an attacker to perform more password guesses than the configured policy intends (e.g., 100 attempts processed where 50 should be allowed). This issue has been patched in version 4.14.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-307","CWE-362","CWE-367"],"references":["https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/releases/tag/v4.14.4","https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/security/advisories/GHSA-m2mr-xhhv-jx58","https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/security/advisories/GHSA-m2mr-xhhv-jx58"],"products":["wazuh:wazuh"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:09.003606135+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-26206","score":0.00209,"percentile":0.11112,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
