Prior to 4.81.0, Fleet contained multiple unauthenticated HTTP endpoints that read request bodies without enforcing a size limit. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this behavior by sending large or repeated HTTP payloads, causing excessive memory allocation and resulting in a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. Version 4.81.0 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/security/advisories/GHSA-99hj-44vg-hfcp"],"products":["fleetdm:fleet"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-26061","score":0.00451,"percentile":0.38917,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-99hj-44vg-hfcp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-99hj-44vg-hfcp","summary":"Fleet's unbounded request body read allows remote Denial of Service","modified":"2026-04-02T21:26:16.462648329Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","ranges":["<4.43.5-0.20260113202849-bbc1aef2987d"],"fixed":["4.43.5-0.20260113202849-bbc1aef2987d"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4889","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4889","summary":"Fleet's unbounded request body read allows remote Denial of Service in github.com/fleetdm/fleet","modified":"2026-04-02T21:20:08.836162Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
