Prior to version 1.14.2, a logical vulnerability in CoreDNS allows DNS access controls to be bypassed due to the default execution order of plugins. Security plugins such as acl are evaluated before the rewrite plugin, resulting in a Time-of-Check Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) flaw. This issue has been patched in version 1.14.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.3},"cwes":["CWE-367"],"references":["https://github.com/coredns/coredns/releases/tag/v1.14.2","https://github.com/coredns/coredns/security/advisories/GHSA-c9v3-4pv7-87pr","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:25127","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:36873","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:8151"],"products":["coredns.io:coredns"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-26017","score":0.00401,"percentile":0.34329,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-c9v3-4pv7-87pr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-c9v3-4pv7-87pr","summary":"CoreDNS ACL Bypass","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:38.750024857Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/coredns/coredns","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/coredns/coredns","ranges":["<1.14.2"],"fixed":["1.14.2"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4630","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4630","summary":"CoreDNS ACL Bypass in github.com/coredns/coredns","modified":"2026-03-23T04:53:18.541779Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/coredns/coredns","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/coredns/coredns","ranges":["<1.14.2"],"fixed":["1.14.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
