{"cve":"CVE-2026-25480","nvd":{"published":"2026-02-09T20:15:57.330","modified":"2026-06-17T10:24:42.447","status":"Analyzed","description":"Litestar is an Asynchronous Server Gateway Interface (ASGI) framework. Prior to 2.20.0, FileStore maps cache keys to filenames using Unicode NFKD normalization and ord() substitution without separators, creating key collisions. When FileStore is used as response-cache backend, an unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger cache key collisions via crafted paths, causing one URL to serve cached responses of another (cache poisoning/mixup). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.20.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-176"],"references":["https://docs.litestar.dev/2/release-notes/changelog.html#2.20.0","https://github.com/litestar-org/litestar/commit/85db6183a76f8a6b3fd6ee3c88d860b9f37a2cca","https://github.com/litestar-org/litestar/releases/tag/v2.20.0","https://github.com/litestar-org/litestar/security/advisories/GHSA-vxqx-rh46-q2pg"],"products":["litestar:litestar"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:22:27.261130201+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-25480","score":0.00467,"percentile":0.40476,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vxqx-rh46-q2pg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vxqx-rh46-q2pg","summary":"Litestar's FileStore key canonicalization collisions allow response cache mixup/poisoning (ASCII ord + Unicode NFKD)","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:32.411208744Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"litestar","purl":"pkg:pypi/litestar","ranges":[">=2.19.0 <2.20.0"],"fixed":["2.20.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2197","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2197","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:34.276090244Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"litestar","purl":"pkg:pypi/litestar","ranges":["<2.20.0"],"fixed":["2.20.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
