{"cve":"CVE-2026-25479","nvd":{"published":"2026-02-09T20:15:57.177","modified":"2026-06-17T10:24:42.333","status":"Analyzed","description":"Litestar is an Asynchronous Server Gateway Interface (ASGI) framework. Prior to 2.20.0, in litestar.middleware.allowed_hosts, allowlist entries are compiled into regex patterns in a way that allows regex metacharacters to retain special meaning (e.g., . matches any character). This enables a bypass where an attacker supplies a host that matches the regex but is not the intended literal hostname. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.20.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-185"],"references":["https://docs.litestar.dev/2/release-notes/changelog.html#2.20.0","https://github.com/litestar-org/litestar/commit/06b36f481d1bfea6f19995cfb4f203aba45c4ace","https://github.com/litestar-org/litestar/releases/tag/v2.20.0","https://github.com/litestar-org/litestar/security/advisories/GHSA-93ph-p7v4-hwh4"],"products":["litestar:litestar"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:22:27.261130201+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-25479","score":0.00358,"percentile":0.29606,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-93ph-p7v4-hwh4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-93ph-p7v4-hwh4","summary":"Litestar's AllowedHosts has a validation bypass due to unescaped regex metacharacters in configured host patterns","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:17.638939942Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"litestar","purl":"pkg:pypi/litestar","ranges":[">=2.19.0 <2.20.0"],"fixed":["2.20.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2196","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2196","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:34.259035891Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"litestar","purl":"pkg:pypi/litestar","ranges":["<2.20.0"],"fixed":["2.20.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
