{"cve":"CVE-2026-25147","nvd":{"published":"2026-02-27T17:16:30.933","modified":"2026-06-17T10:24:11.420","status":"Analyzed","description":"OpenEMR is a free and open source electronic health records and medical practice management application. Prior to version 8.0.0, in `portal/portal_payment.php`, the patient id used for the page is taken from the request (`$pid = $_REQUEST['pid'] ?? $pid` and `$pid = ($_REQUEST['hidden_patient_code'] ?? null) > 0 ? $_REQUEST['hidden_patient_code'] : $pid`) instead of being fixed to the authenticated portal user. The portal session already has a valid `$pid` for the logged-in patient. Overwriting it with user-supplied values and using it without authorization allows a portal user to view and interact with another patient's demographics, invoices, and payment history—horizontal privilege escalation and IDOR. Version 8.0.0 contains a fix for the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-639"],"references":["https://github.com/openemr/openemr/commit/d6ab3cd0b621b19b942cf49d2db2026e288aa214","https://github.com/openemr/openemr/security/advisories/GHSA-mwmw-qxv3-8whh"],"products":["open-emr:openemr"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-25147","score":0.00251,"percentile":0.16482,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
