{"cve":"CVE-2026-25128","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-30T16:16:14.123","modified":"2026-06-17T10:24:09.427","status":"Analyzed","description":"fast-xml-parser allows users to validate XML, parse XML to JS object, or build XML from JS object without C/C++ based libraries and no callback. In versions 5.0.9 through 5.3.3, a RangeError vulnerability exists in the numeric entity processing of fast-xml-parser when parsing XML with out-of-range entity code points (e.g., `` or ``). This causes the parser to throw an uncaught exception, crashing any application that processes untrusted XML input. Version 5.3.4 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-20","CWE-248"],"references":["https://github.com/NaturalIntelligence/fast-xml-parser/commit/4e387f61c4a5cef792f6a2f42467013290bf95dc","https://github.com/NaturalIntelligence/fast-xml-parser/releases/tag/v5.3.4","https://github.com/NaturalIntelligence/fast-xml-parser/security/advisories/GHSA-37qj-frw5-hhjh"],"products":["naturalintelligence:fast-xml-parser"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:22:27.261130201+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-25128","score":0.00612,"percentile":0.49333,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-37qj-frw5-hhjh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-37qj-frw5-hhjh","summary":"fast-xml-parser has RangeError DoS Numeric Entities Bug","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:32.638909177Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"fast-xml-parser","purl":"pkg:npm/fast-xml-parser","ranges":[">=5.0.9 <5.3.4"],"fixed":["5.3.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
