Prior to versions 1.123.18 and 2.5.0, a vulnerability in the file access controls allows authenticated users with permission to create or modify workflows to read sensitive files from the n8n host system. This can be exploited to obtain critical configuration data and user credentials, leading to complete account takeover of any user on the instance. This issue has been patched in versions 1.123.18 and 2.5.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H","score":9.4},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.9},"cwes":["CWE-367"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-gfvg-qv54-r4pc"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:22:27.261130201+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-25052","score":0.00329,"percentile":0.2606,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-gfvg-qv54-r4pc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-gfvg-qv54-r4pc","summary":"n8n's Improper File Access Controls Allow Arbitrary File Read by Authenticated Users","modified":"2026-02-05T16:29:48.602180Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.5.0"],"fixed":["2.5.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<1.123.18"],"fixed":["1.123.18"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
