Prior to version 0.0.22, a Path Traversal vulnerability exists when using non-default configuration options `UPLOAD_DIR` and `UPLOAD_KEEP_FILENAME=True`. An attacker can write uploaded files to arbitrary locations on the filesystem by crafting a malicious filename. Users should upgrade to version 0.0.22 to receive a patch or, as a workaround, avoid using `UPLOAD_KEEP_FILENAME=True` in project configurations.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/Kludex/python-multipart/commit/9433f4bbc9652bdde82bbe380984e32f8cfc89c4","https://github.com/Kludex/python-multipart/releases/tag/0.0.22","https://github.com/Kludex/python-multipart/security/advisories/GHSA-wp53-j4wj-2cfg","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:10184","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:1504"],"products":["fastapiexpert:python-multipart"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:21:16.563232421+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-24486","score":0.02206,"percentile":0.82568,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wp53-j4wj-2cfg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wp53-j4wj-2cfg","summary":"Python-Multipart has Arbitrary File Write via Non-Default Configuration","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:59.359593372Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"python-multipart","purl":"pkg:pypi/python-multipart","ranges":["<0.0.22"],"fixed":["0.0.22"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1852","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1852","summary":"Python-Multipart has Arbitrary File Write via Non-Default Configuration","modified":"2026-07-07T17:48:07.217083848Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"python-multipart","purl":"pkg:pypi/python-multipart","ranges":["<0.0.22"],"fixed":["0.0.22"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
