{"cve":"CVE-2026-24398","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-27T19:16:16.363","modified":"2026-06-17T10:23:00.350","status":"Analyzed","description":"Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to version 4.11.7, IP Restriction Middleware in Hono is vulnerable to an IP address validation bypass. The `IPV4_REGEX` pattern and `convertIPv4ToBinary` function in `src/utils/ipaddr.ts` do not properly validate that IPv4 octet values are within the valid range of 0-255, allowing attackers to craft malformed IP addresses that bypass IP-based access controls. Version 4.11.7 contains a patch for the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-185"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/hono/commit/edbf6eea8e6c26a3937518d4ed91d8666edeec37","https://github.com/honojs/hono/releases/tag/v4.11.7","https://github.com/honojs/hono/security/advisories/GHSA-r354-f388-2fhh"],"products":["hono:hono"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:21:16.563232421+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-24398","score":0.00345,"percentile":0.28076,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-r354-f388-2fhh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-r354-f388-2fhh","summary":"Hono IPv4 address validation bypass in IP Restriction Middleware allows IP spoofing","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:59.119404609Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"hono","purl":"pkg:npm/hono","ranges":["<4.11.7"],"fixed":["4.11.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
