Prior to 4.1.0, user control of the first argument of the addMetadata function allows users to inject arbitrary XML. If given the possibility to pass unsanitized input to the addMetadata method, a user can inject arbitrary XMP metadata into the generated PDF. If the generated PDF is signed, stored or otherwise processed after, the integrity of the PDF can no longer be guaranteed. The vulnerability has been fixed in jsPDF@4.1.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:L/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/parallax/jsPDF/commit/efe54bf50f3f5e5416b2495e3c24624fc80b6cff","https://github.com/parallax/jsPDF/releases/tag/v4.1.0","https://github.com/parallax/jsPDF/security/advisories/GHSA-vm32-vv63-w422"],"products":["parall:jspdf"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:22:27.261130201+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-24043","score":0.00291,"percentile":0.21654,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vm32-vv63-w422","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vm32-vv63-w422","summary":"jsPDF Vulnerable to Stored XMP Metadata Injection (Spoofing & Integrity Violation)","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:35.866172057Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"jspdf","purl":"pkg:npm/jspdf","ranges":["<4.1.0"],"fixed":["4.1.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
