A private key recovery vulnerability exists in the SM2 decryption logic of sm-crypto prior to version 0.3.14. By interacting with the SM2 decryption interface multiple times, an attacker can fully recover the private key within approximately several hundred interactions. Version 0.3.14 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-345"],"references":["https://github.com/JuneAndGreen/sm-crypto/commit/b1c824e58fdf1eaa73692c124a095819a8c45707","https://github.com/JuneAndGreen/sm-crypto/security/advisories/GHSA-pgx9-497m-6c4v"],"products":["juneandgreen:sm-crypto"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:21:16.563232421+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-23966","score":0.00232,"percentile":0.14083,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-pgx9-497m-6c4v","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-pgx9-497m-6c4v","summary":"sm-crypto Affected by Private Key Recovery in SM2-PKE","modified":"2026-02-03T03:10:10.664749Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"sm-crypto","purl":"pkg:npm/sm-crypto","ranges":["<0.3.14"],"fixed":["0.3.14"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
