{"cve":"CVE-2026-23764","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-22T17:16:37.757","modified":"2026-06-17T10:22:04.560","status":"Deferred","description":"VB-Audio Voicemeeter, Voicemeeter Banana, and Voicemeeter Potato (versions ending in 1.1.1.9, 2.1.1.9, and 3.1.1.9 and earlier, respectively), as well as VB-Audio Matrix and Matrix Coconut (versions ending in 1.0.2.2 and 2.0.2.2 and earlier, respectively), contain a vulnerability in their virtual audio drivers (vbvoicemeetervaio64*.sys, vbmatrixvaio64*.sys, vbaudio_vmauxvaio*.sys, vbaudio_vmvaio*.sys, and vbaudio_vmvaio3*.sys). The drivers allocate non-paged pool and map it into user space, where a length value associated with the allocation is exposed and can be modified by an unprivileged local attacker. On subsequent IOCTL handling, the corrupted length is used directly as the IoAllocateMdl length argument without adequate integrity checks before building and mapping the MDL, which can cause a kernel crash (BSoD), typically PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. This flaw allows a local user to trigger a denial-of-service on affected Windows systems.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.8},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-823"],"references":["https://forum.vb-audio.com/viewtopic.php?p=7527#p7527","https://forum.vb-audio.com/viewtopic.php?p=7574#p7574","https://github.com/emkaix/security-research/tree/main/CVE-2026-23764","https://vb-audio.com/","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/vb-audio-voicemeeter-and-matrix-drivers-dos-via-corrupted-ioallocatemdl-length"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:21:16.563232421+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-23764","score":0.00154,"percentile":0.04528,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
