The shell 'ps' command does not perform proper argument sanitization and passes user-supplied parameters into an 'sh -c' invocation running as root. An authenticated attacker who can log in to the device can inject shell metacharacters after the 'ps' subcommand to execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges, leading to full compromise of the underlying operating system.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.6},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://www.perle.com/downloads/server_sds_sts_rackmount.shtml","https://www.perle.com/support_services/documentation_pdfs/iolan_scs-sds-sts_ug.pdf","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/perle-iolan-sts-scs-authenticated-command-injection-via-shell-ps"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-23759","score":0.01568,"percentile":0.75345,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
