While kfree() safely handles a NULL\npointer, trigger_data_free() does not. This causes a NULL pointer\ndereference in trigger_data_free() when evaluating\ndata->cmd_ops->set_filter.\n\nFix the problem by adding a NULL pointer check to trigger_data_free().\n\nThe problem was found by an experimental code review agent based on\ngemini-3.1-pro while reviewing backports into v6.18.y.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/13dcd9269e225e4c4ceabdaeebe2ce4661b54c6e","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2ce8ece5a78da67834db7728edc801889a64f643","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/42b380f97d65e76e7b310facd525f730272daf57","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/457965c13f0837a289c9164b842d0860133f6274","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/477469223b2b840f436ce204333de87cb17e5d93"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-23309","score":0.00127,"percentile":0.02382,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
