If any of the subsequent steps fail (changing\nthe controller state, scheduling connect work, etc.), we jump to the\nfail_ctrl path, which tears down the controller references but never\nfrees the admin queue/tag set. The leaked blk-mq allocations match the\nkmemleak report seen during blktests nvme/fc.\n\nCheck ctrl->ctrl.admin_tagset in the fail_ctrl path and call\nnvme_remove_admin_tag_set() when it is set so that all admin queue\nallocations are reclaimed whenever controller setup aborts.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-401"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7c54d3f5ebbc5982daaa004260242dc07ac943ea","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d1877cc7270302081a315a81a0ee8331f19f95c8","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e810b290922c535feb34bc90ab549446fe94d2a3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/fa301aef50e3f3b5be6ee53457608beae5aa7a01"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-23261","score":0.00118,"percentile":0.01709,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
