{"cve":"CVE-2026-22775","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-15T19:16:05.963","modified":"2026-07-15T02:18:35.813","status":"Modified","description":"Svelte devalue is a JavaScript library that serializes values into strings when JSON.stringify isn't sufficient for the job. From 5.1.0 to 5.6.1, certain inputs can cause devalue.parse to consume excessive CPU time and/or memory, potentially leading to denial of service in systems that parse input from untrusted sources. This affects applications using devalue.parse on externally-supplied data. The root cause is the ArrayBuffer hydration expecting base64 encoded strings as input, but not checking the assumption before decoding the input. This vulnerability is fixed in 5.6.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-405"],"references":["https://github.com/sveltejs/devalue/commit/11755849fa0634ae294a15ec0aef2f43efcad7c4","https://github.com/sveltejs/devalue/releases/tag/v5.6.2","https://github.com/sveltejs/devalue/security/advisories/GHSA-g2pg-6438-jwpf","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:2144","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:2926"],"products":["svelte:devalue"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:19:41.481987139+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-22775","score":0.00625,"percentile":0.49995,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g2pg-6438-jwpf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g2pg-6438-jwpf","summary":"devalue vulnerable to denial of service due to memory/CPU exhaustion in devalue.parse","modified":"2026-02-03T03:17:50.922730Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"devalue","purl":"pkg:npm/devalue","ranges":[">=5.1.0 <5.6.2"],"fixed":["5.6.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
