{"cve":"CVE-2026-22772","nvd":{"published":"2026-01-12T21:15:59.457","modified":"2026-06-17T10:20:23.913","status":"Analyzed","description":"Fulcio is a certificate authority for issuing code signing certificates for an OpenID Connect (OIDC) identity. Prior to 1.8.5, Fulcio's metaRegex() function uses unanchored regex, allowing attackers to bypass MetaIssuer URL validation and trigger SSRF to arbitrary internal services. Since the SSRF only can trigger GET requests, the request cannot mutate state. The response from the GET request is not returned to the caller so data exfiltration is not possible. A malicious actor could attempt to probe an internal network through Blind SSRF. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.8.5.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/sigstore/fulcio/commit/eaae2f2be56df9dea5f9b439ec81bedae4c0978d","https://github.com/sigstore/fulcio/security/advisories/GHSA-59jp-pj84-45mr"],"products":["linuxfoundation:fulcio"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:19:41.481987139+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-22772","score":0.00232,"percentile":0.14085,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-59jp-pj84-45mr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-59jp-pj84-45mr","summary":"Fulcio is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via MetaIssuer Regex Bypass","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:54.317822040Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/sigstore/fulcio","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/sigstore/fulcio","ranges":["<1.8.5"],"fixed":["1.8.5"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4311","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4311","summary":"Fulcio is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via MetaIssuer Regex Bypass in github.com/sigstore/fulcio","modified":"2026-02-04T03:46:51.063238Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/sigstore/fulcio","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/sigstore/fulcio","ranges":["<1.8.5"],"fixed":["1.8.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
