Prior to version 0.25.4, there is a one-click remote code execution vulnerability. This vulnerability can be exploited by embedding a specially crafted affine: URL on a website. An attacker can trigger the vulnerability in two common scenarios: 1/ A victim visits a malicious website controlled by the attacker and the website redirect to the URL automatically, or 2/ A victim clicks on a crafted link embedded on a legitimate website (e.g., in user-generated content). In both cases, the browser invokes AFFiNE custom URL handler, which launches the AFFiNE app and processes the crafted URL. This results in arbitrary code execution on the victim’s machine, without further interaction. This issue has been patched in version 0.25.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-94"],"references":["https://github.com/toeverything/AFFiNE/commit/c9a4129a3e9376b688c18e1dcd6c87a775caac80","https://github.com/toeverything/AFFiNE/pull/13864","https://github.com/toeverything/AFFiNE/security/advisories/GHSA-67vm-2mcj-8965"],"products":["affine:affine"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-21853","score":0.00713,"percentile":0.53648,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
