{"cve":"CVE-2026-20230","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-03T18:16:20.160","modified":"2026-10-07T19:17:37.003","status":"Analyzed","description":"A vulnerability in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks through an affected device.\r\n\r\nThis vulnerability is due to improper input validation for specific HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to write files to the underlying operating system that could be used later to elevate to root.\r\nNote: Cisco has assigned this security advisory a Security Impact Rating (SIR) of Critical rather than High as the score indicates. The reason is that exploitation of this vulnerability could result in an attacker elevating privileges to root.\r\nNote: To exploit this vulnerability, the WebDialer service must be enabled. WebDialer is disabled by default.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":8.6},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-cucm-ssrf-cXPnHcW","https://denizhalil.com/2026/06/12/cve-2026-20230-cisco-unified-cm-ssrf/","https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog?field_cve=CVE-2026-20230"],"products":["cisco:unified_communications_manager"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-20230","score":0.882,"percentile":0.99765,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":{"cve":"CVE-2026-20230","date_added":"2026-06-25","due_date":"2026-06-28","vendor":"Cisco","product":"Unified Communications Manager","known_ransomware":false},"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
