An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted serialized Java object to the web-based management interface of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the device and elevate privileges to root.\r\nNote: If the FMC management interface does not have public internet access, the attack surface that is associated with this vulnerability is reduced.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-fmc-rce-NKhnULJh","https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/security/amazon-threat-intelligence-teams-identify-interlock-ransomware-campaign-targeting-enterprise-firewalls/","https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog?field_cve=CVE-2026-20131"],"products":["cisco:secure_firewall_management_center"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-20131","score":0.44431,"percentile":0.98764,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":{"cve":"CVE-2026-20131","date_added":"2026-03-19","due_date":"2026-03-22","vendor":"Cisco","product":"Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC)","known_ransomware":true},"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
