{"cve":"CVE-2026-18651","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-03T16:16:29.073","modified":"2026-08-09T13:54:50.200","status":"Analyzed","description":"A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. During SASL PLAIN authentication, the server installs connection-level bind credentials before performing the account-lock check. If the account is subsequently found to be locked, the bind is reported as failed to the client, but the already-installed authenticated state on the connection is not reverted. A client that supplies valid credentials for an account that has been administratively locked can continue to use the same connection with that account's privileges, defeating account lock as an access-revocation control.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-18651","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2510617"],"products":["redhat:389_directory_server","redhat:directory_server","redhat:enterprise_linux"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:47:10.050265369+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-18651","score":0.00282,"percentile":0.20754,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
