This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the (top-level template code) function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress options, including critical ones such as siteurl, home, active_plugins, template, and stylesheet, causing site outage or a full plugin and theme reset via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-compress-image-optimizer/tags/7.10.03/classes/menu.class.php#L239","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-compress-image-optimizer/tags/7.10.03/classes/menu.class.php#L335","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-compress-image-optimizer/tags/7.10.03/templates/admin/advanced_settings_v4.php#L2378","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-compress-image-optimizer/tags/7.10.03/templates/admin/debug_tool.php#L550","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-compress-image-optimizer/tags/7.10.03/templates/admin/debug_tool.php#L551"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:10.689564601+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-17608","score":0.00238,"percentile":0.1491,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
