This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The save-time wp_kses_post sanitization is ineffective because the payload is stored inside a Gutenberg block delimiter comment as JSON, which wp_kses_post preserves, allowing an attribute-breakout string to survive to the server-side render_callback.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/product-blocks/trunk/blocks/Product_Grid_1.php#L107","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/product-blocks/trunk/blocks/template/filter.php#L10","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/product-blocks/trunk/classes/Functions.php#L1632","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3625492%40product-blocks&new=3625492%40product-blocks","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/fae39bf9-8ceb-4cb1-afd1-522c885e6ef5?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:46:40.600842820+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-17161","score":0.00331,"percentile":0.26369,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
