When the JSON Web Token (JWT) authorization grant preview feature is enabled and a user account is disabled, Keycloak fails to validate the user’s disabled status during JWT authorization grant processing. A remote attacker with low privileges can exploit this improper access control vulnerability by presenting a valid assertion token from an external identity provider to obtain a JWT for a disabled user. This allows unauthorized access to sensitive resources.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-284"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-1609","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2435257","https://github.com/keycloak/keycloak/issues/46144","https://github.com/keycloak/keycloak/releases/tag/26.5.3","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-1609"],"products":["redhat:build_of_keycloak"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:36.895656543+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-1609","score":0.00562,"percentile":0.46742,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
