{"cve":"CVE-2026-15343","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-17T16:17:13.917","modified":"2026-10-24T20:10:00.137","status":"Deferred","description":"A path traversal vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an attacker who had code execution inside the Dependabot updater container to write files to arbitrary repository paths, including GitHub Actions workflow files under .github/workflows/ as the path validation did not check the effective path which the attacker could control through the dependency file's directory and symlink target. If the repository used a pull_request_target workflow or had auto-merge enabled, an injected workflow could execute with access to the repository's GitHub Actions secrets. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.22 and was fixed in versions 3.21.3, 3.20.5, 3.19.9, 3.18.12, 3.17.18.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.6},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-server@3.17/admin/release-notes#3.17.18","https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-server@3.18/admin/release-notes#3.18.12","https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-server@3.19/admin/release-notes#3.19.9","https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-server@3.20/admin/release-notes#3.20.5","https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-server@3.21/admin/release-notes#3.21.3"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:08.599881581+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-15343","score":0.00752,"percentile":0.54726,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
